Contrary to popular expectations, we continue to experience smooth processing for visas and Green Cards for all nationalities. We recently received an approval for an H-1B which no other lawyer wanted to take. The Italian-Iranian national had gotten an H-1B four years ago and was laid off about 6 weeks later. Thereafter, she just stayed on in the USA. Finally, she came to us and we devised a strategy to submit a new H-1B, building upon her work experience in the Italian food industry and her degree in Public Relations. She was sponsored for a part-time position by an Italian food company. We provided extensive documentation on the Italian company as well as on her prior work experience in the field. The case was pending for almost a year, during which time she had to leave the US as her initial 3-year visa ran out. The case was approved in February 2017.
Our Extraordinary Ability Green Card petitions for Iranian muralist/street artist, Mehdi Ghadyanloo, was approved in a matter of days in early 2017 using the Premium Processing service, as was our EB-1 for a Spanish film director in the US on an F-2 visa.
We have had twenty O-1 approvals so far in 2017. Average processing times for these cases, using traditional processing, was 2-3 weeks. Our O-1 petition for a Japanese storyteller/magician was approved this month. Other O-1 cases approved in 2017 include a Japanese badminton player, a Korean instrumentalist, a Greek hip-hop dancer, a Chinese painter, a graphic designer from Norway, a Japanese curator, and several architectural designers from Korea and China. Japanese hair stylist, Keita Watanabe, Chinese art critic and writer, Haowen Li, had their cases approved in ten days, as did a Japanese multidisciplinary artist.
We also overcame a harsh and unjustified RFE for Japanese costume designer, Saori Mitome, who applied for a three-year extension of her existing O-1 visa. See www.certified-swag.com for some of Saori’s riveting designs. The case was approved three days after we submitted our response.
