Dr. Hongyu Li is a highly respected machine learning scientist in the field of medical imaging. We submitted both his NIW and EB-1 petitions in May of last year, and his NIW was approved this February—without premium processing. When it comes to applicants with genuine, exceptional qualifications, our role as attorneys is simply to organize the evidence and clearly explain the client’s achievements and major contributions in a way that immigration officers can easily understand. We’re deeply grateful that Dr. Li entrusted us with this opportunity!

Dr. Li holds both a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where his research focuses on applying deep learning and artificial intelligence to medical imaging. His work spans a range of cutting-edge imaging technologies, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), and Photoacoustic Tomography, with the goal of enhancing imaging speed, accuracy, and clinical practicality.

Dr. Li has an impressive record of academic contributions. His work has been widely published in top-tier journals in the medical imaging field, such as Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (one of the leading journals in MRI), NeuroImage (a prestigious journal in neuroimaging), Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics, and Biomedical Optics Express. His representative studies, including the “SuperMAP” and “SuperDTI” series, have made significant advances in using deep learning to improve MRI speed and image quality—driving innovation and clinical application in the medical imaging industry. His work has been cited over 200 times, and he currently holds an H-index of 8, demonstrating his substantial influence and recognition within the academic community.

In addition to journal publications, Dr. Li is an active contributor at major international conferences. He has frequently presented his work at the annual meetings of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), where he has shared cutting-edge research on deep learning-based accelerated MRI, image reconstruction optimization, denoising techniques, and 3D real-time imaging. His presentations have earned high praise from both academic and industry experts.

Beyond academia, Dr. Li has also made noteworthy contributions to industry. He has participated in the development of international technical standards and is a patent holder for innovations related to advanced video encoding (H.265 standard), reflecting the strong commercial potential of his research.

Dr. Li shared:

“I am a Machine Learning Scientist in Medical Imaging, and I applied NIW and EB1A with Jane. My NIW got approved last month. Thanks for the nice service by Jane and Rongrong Jing! Rongrong is very supportive!”
